OBC February Meeting

Educational topic: Perceiving and describing different Hops : Hops are a focal point of so many modern beers, and homebrew geeks are constantly looking for that new trendy varietal. As brewers, beer consumers, and beer judges, it is important to understand the differing qualities of different hops. Unfortunately, we rarely have the opportunity to evaluate hops in isolation.
At this month’s meeting, we will be blindly sampling six different hop teas and having an open discussion about the characteristics of the hops used. Only after this discussion with the names of the hops be revealed. Some of the hops will be classics, while others will be newer varieties.
Food: We would like to have food available at this meeting, so we encourage our members to bring some food items for everyone to share. Don't forget that bringing food to share at a meeting can earn you some Member of the year points and raffle tickets.
