Hop Rhizome Propagation with Gayle Goschie

The April meeting will feature a very special visit from Gayle Goschie of Goschie FarmsThis is going to be a rare "hopportunity" to speak to a pioneer in the field of hop cultivation. She'll teach us about rhizome propagation, planting, and how to care for your hop bines (not vine, bine. What's a bine? ---> http://bit.ly/fj8GBB). She'll be happy to answer any and all questions posed, so get them ready!

Goschie Farms, family-owned and based in Silverton, Oregon, has been growing hops for over 100 years and Gayle is the figurative and literal heart of their operation. Five years ago, Gayle took on the challenge of growing organic hops, against great odds and at high financial risk, yet the farm is still going strong. They are the first "Certified Salmon Safe" hop farm in the US, and they are notable for their commitment to sustainable farming, an idea which Gayle championed and insists on.

It will be an honor to have her visit us, so don't miss out on the chance to speak to one of Oregon's premiere hop farmers!

All active members and guests are invited to attend.

Held at:

F H Steinbart Co
234 Southeast 12th Avenue
Portland, OR 97214
