Hey all,
On Monday, our Governor signed Oregon's new homebrew law into effect; let's celebrate! The board of directors for the OBC and the PDX Brewers have collaborated for the occasion and are happy to announce that this upcoming Saturday, April 2nd at 2:30 pm, we have reserved a covered picnic shelter at Mt Tabor park to do just that. All members of the OBC and PDX Brewers, as well as their friends and families, are welcome to attend. We will be bringing the grill and cooking up some burgers and such and would like to ask that as many of you as possible bring a dish to share as well. By no means is this a mandatory pot luck, but your participation will go a long way toward making this an event to remember. The most important thing is to celebrate our ability to bring homebrew once again! If you don't have homebrew, bring something else. This event is "bring you own beer" (byob) so if you would like something to drink, please bring some too. However, NO KEGS as this is a Portland Park rule. To reduce waste, you might consider bringing a festival tasting cup of your own.
Additionally, we are looking for a volunteer to bring the bbq grill from FH Steinbart over to the picnic site. Once the party is over, we also need someone to hold on to the grill until it can be returned to Steinbarts on Monday. If anyone has a pickup, we would appreciate your help in making sure we have something to cook on. Let us know at board@oregonbrewcrew.org
Also, if a few people happen to have a propane heater that they would be willing to set up, I'm sure our beer-mug-holding hands would appreciate it. The club will, of course, reimburse you for the propane.
We hope to see you all this Saturday to celebrate the passing of Senate Bill 444 and the ability for all of us to, once again, bring homebrewed beer outside of our homes. Let's make this a great turnout!
