This is the September In-Meeting. There will be food, beer, and friends! There will be a brief meeting and then education.
Have you ever wished that you could identify that persistent off flavor in your homebrew batches? Perhaps you’ve wondered what brewers mean when they talk about compounds like Acetaldehyde, DMS, or Diacetyl? Are you a BJCP judge who just wants more specific practice with off-flavors?
Whether you’re new to brewing and beer evaluation or you’re a seasoned sensory evaluator, don’t miss OBC’s September 13thmeeting at FH Steinbart. We will be joined by Brittney Berg, a representative of the Siebel Institute of Technology and the West Coast Technical Manager for Lallemand Brewing.
Brittney will be facilitating a sensory seminar where we compare beers doctored with off flavors to a control sample. The goal is to be able to consistently detect and identify common flaws in homebrew beer (and perhaps even pick up a trick or two to improve our homebrew along the way).
