OBC's June Meeting! There will be education, beer, and food as well as announcements. Come hang out and drink beer with friends and learn some useful things as well.
Education Topic
Tyler Shoales, former Maltster with Canada Malting/Great Western Malting, current Malt Specialist with Country Malt Group, Great Western Malting and an avid homebrewer, will conduct a presentation on how to do, as he calls it, “hot steeps” to assess potential aroma, flavor, etc. when building a malt bill for a recipe.
Please bring food to help

Your Burgermeister is extremely allergic to all onions which
includes chives. Please be courteous and let me know if there are onions, fresh raw, dried/powdered or cooked as it will need to sit far far away from me, I cannot even breathe them.

Pilot Great Western Malting’s Beta Test Program for Experimental Malts
Introduction to Great Western Malting's (GWM) Beta Test Program and distribution of the first batch of experimental malt. GWM is planning on beta testing 3 to 4 malts a year and distributing the malt to OBC members at club meetings through a GWM representative. OBC Members who brew with the experimental malt are expected to complete a digital survey in a timely manner with constructive feedback regarding their brewing results.
