The 2011 class/exam has been filled and we have a substantial waiting list that we will be using to fill cancellations should they occur.
This is our ten week
Beer Judge Certification Program class that prepares you for the
BJCP exam. Ten evening classes
(7-9pm) will be taught at the
Burnside Brewing Company followed by two possible exam dates (see below schedule). All AHA recognized beer styles and many important technical subjects will be taught. Beer sampling and evaluation will be a large part of the "hands on" portion of each class as well.
The price of the all-inclusive class is $100 and the BJCP exam is an additional $50. If you are an OBC member, the club will subsidize half of your exam fee, bringing the total price to $125.
At this time we are only taking registrations for those people who intend to take the class and the exam. The fee for the class and exam must be paid in full within 7 days of registration and will become non-refundable 14 days before the first class begins on November 15th.
Based on demand, the club be able to offer additional class slots without a guaranteed exam slot and those people can act as standby test takers. These slots, if available, will be first offered to those who failed to secure a class/exam slot and then to others. Additionally, if you are interested in only taking the exam (no class), these slots will be filled at a later time if available. If you are interested in taking only the class or exam and do not want to register at this time, please
send an email to us and we will put you on the list.
Registration will be first come first serve beginning at 12:00 pm noon PDT on Friday October 7th, 2011. We will begin contacting registrars and give instructions for payment shortly thereafter and fill as many test/exam slots as possible before creating class/test only and standby lists.
