OBC is helping to host the AHA Regional Homebrew Competition this week.  There are 750 regional entries to be judged with the winners going on to the National Competition this June in Seattle.  This is over twice the number of entries that we typically see at a local competition so we really need your help.

There are three remaining judging opportunities so PLEASE volunteer if you can.

#1:  Wednesday 4/18 7pm+

Following the judging Wednesday night of the 30+ Cheers To Belgian Beers entries, we will slip in another 43 Belgian Strong entries from regional’s.  Brian Butenschoen of the OR Brewers Guild suggested we take advantage of the group of mostly professional brewers who will be present to judge the Cheers Beers.

I hope they will all stick around to help us judge the NHC beers, but if we lose a few I would like to supplement with some more judges.  Here's your opportunity to judge Belgian beers with some very experienced brewers.

This judging sessions will start around 7PM this Wednesday night 4/18 at the Lucky Lab on Quimby.  We'll start after the Cheers Beers judging and BOS is complete.

2#:  Friday 4/20 4pm-10pm

On Friday evening we are going to do another pre-judging event at Hopworks Urban Brewery.  This will be a great opportunity to really put in some uninterrupted judging hours to help reduce the number of entries for the main session the next day.  4-10pm at HUB.

3#:  Saturday 4/21 9am-5pm

This is the main event and we are hoping to have 60+ judges.  We REALLY need your help with this one so PLEASE consider judging on Saturday.  Even if you can only come out for half a day, this will help.

If you are interested in judging any on any of these dates, please email PJ at pj69z@comcast.net.  We need judges with all levels of experience so please help if you can.

I truly believe that the members of the OBC will step up to the plate and help make this great competition a real success.

Cheers
