May General Meeting

We will be welcoming Breakside Brewing’s Head Brewer, Ben Edmunds, for a meeting that hop head brewers will not want to miss.  Ben’s self titled Hoppy Beer Boot Camp, will be a broad talk on the fundamentals of recipe design, hop selection, and the utilization for hop-forward beers.  He will cover recipe designs for “classic” hoppy styles like IPA, APA, Amber, and Imperial IPA’s to include hop selection, what hops work when, what works together well, and what doesn’t.  He will also be talk about real vs. perceived bitterness, water composition, hop chemistry, and IBUs.  Ben is planning on bringing four different hoppy Breakside beers for us to sample as well.  It should be a great time and don’t forget to bring your questions.  Thanks Ben!
