Yeast Experiment Taste Off
When
11/10/2012
2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Location
Hollywood Senior Center
On September 27th, the OBC partnered with Breakside Brewery and Wyeast to perform a yeast experiment. Breakside brewed about 50 gallons of a Belgian Pale as a base and Wyeast provided 10 different yeast strains for the experiment. The wort and yeast strains were then divided among ten
different OBC members in a blind distribution for fermentation.
The beer is now here. All members are invited to attend an open house to sample the results of the experiment. Come out and taste various yeast strains in a side-by-side comparison and find out for yourself whether or not there is a difference. We want to know who can figure out which strains were actually used - you could win FANTASTIC prizes of questionable
value if you are successful.
Mark your calendars for the great unveiling and tasting of the resulting beers. The open house will be on November 10th at the Hollywood Senior Center located at 1820 NE 40th Ave (just north of Columbia River Brewing) from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There is FREE street parking available near the Center. The lot adjacent to the building on the east is a pay lot - you must pay to park there or you will get a ticket. If you have any questions regarding the open house or the experiment, please email
