The National Homebrew Competition is back and Seattle is hosting the first round judging center for the Northwest Region this year.

The event will take place on April 4, 2014, at 5:30 pm (1 session) and again on April 5 at 8:30 am (2 sessions).  The judging will be held at the Pyramid Alehouse across from Safeco Field.

Many judges and stewards are need to make this competition run smoothly and be successful. Approximately 750 entries are expected and the flight winners (1-3) will move on to the final round in Grand Rapids, Michigan (in conjunction with the National Homebrewers Conference).

Why should you volunteer?  First, all volunteers will receive a continental style breakfast and lunch. Secondly, you'll have a chance to win some cool swag throughout the sessions. Finally, as added incentive, the AHA will also be giving one lucky volunteer a complimentary pass to this year’s National Homebrewers Conference in Grand Rapids. The lucky volunteer will be randomly drawn by the AHA from the pool of competition staff, judges, and stewards for each Judge Center.

Please register here if you are interested in volunteering as a judge or steward.

In addition to judging on April 4th and 5th, volunteers are need to help with entry processing on March 22nd at 1:00 pm. If you you like to volunteer with entry processing, please email the organizers here.

For accommodations, please contact the Silver Cloud Hotel - Seattle Stadium.  The Silver Cloud is offering a discounted rate for the competition volunteers. The deadline for making reservations at the discounted rate is March 14, 2014.
