Bottler's Mausoleum Homebrew Competition
This is the event that will be held to help in the restoration of Bottler's Mausoleum. You may recall the
Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery
presentation at the February meeting, or you can read
Warren's
listing from July of last year.
The entry is free and limited to 15 brewers. Brewers must be current members of the OBC. This event will be 2 parts, the first is the homebrew competition in August, and the second will be the fundraiser dinner in the Fall where the winner will be officially recognized. The brewers that entered beer will receive free entry to the fundraiser.
The winner will be the official Bottler's Bier, scaled up, and the winner will get to brew at one or more pro breweries. Proceeds from keg and tap sales will go towards the restoration.
They are requesting
German Styles
(Munich Helles, German pilsner, Munich Dunkel, Bocks, etc.) be entered as that is the ancestry of the Bottler brothers. The brewers will need to bring 3-5 gallons of their beer to the cemetery and serve them to the public out of bottles or kegs. It is a lot of beer to give away, but you will get to attend the fundraiser that is anticipated to be in the range of $60-100 per head and have a chance to have your beer be the official Bottler's Bier.
Time to get started to be ready for August!
Prost!
