OBC's Trip to Bend

The OBC is heading to Bend for a weekend of camping and a series of brewery tours June 20-22, 2014.  Ever done a group camp?  If not, here is your chance to join the fun.

You are responsible for your transportation to and from Bend, where we have reserved campsites for 2 nights at Tumalo State Park. Most of the sites along the Deschutes River are held for our group. We should be able to enjoy ourselves without disturbing others.

On Saturday morning, a bus will pick us up at the campsite and we will be travelling to Bend for tours and tastings at some outstanding Oregon breweries: Boneyard, and 2-3 others to be named.

There are 2 options available on this trip: Option #1 includes camping with the bus tour, or Option #2 includes only camping. Both options do not include food or drinks at the campsite, you are on your own to bring what you will need. The club jockey box will be there to rotate through any kegs brought down.

The cost for the first trip option, which includes camping and the tour, is $45 for OBC members and $65 for non-members. The cost for the camping only option is $20 for OBC members and $30 for non-members. Each campsite can host 2-3 tents. Minors will be allowed at the campsites, but not on the bus tour.

The cost for non-members is higher because the club is subsidizing the price for members. The registration fee is fully refundable up to 72 hours prior to departure; however, there will be no refunds after that time.  NO EXCEPTIONS

The registration fee for the bus trip option will cover the cost of the campgrounds, 1 vehicle per site, firewood for a large group fire, Saturday lunch, and snacks/water on the bus. The registration for the camping only option includes a shared campsite and 1 vehicle per site. However, beer and food (other than the included lunch) at the brewery stops is NOT covered in the registration fee - everyone is on their own for all drink purchases at the breweries.

Please try to carpool. We are allowed 1 vehicle per site and are charged for additional cars. We may be able to shuttle people to another parking lot.

Please note that you are allowed to bring beer on the bus (no kegs), but we ask that you please drink in moderation.

The bus will depart from the Tumalo Campgrounds. We then return to the campgrounds by 7:00 p.m. Space is limited.

You will receive additional and updated information after you have registered.

Some fine print:

You must be signed into your personal account on the OBC website in order to register for the discounted member price.  If you are not signed in to your account, you will only see the non-member price.  Use the reset password link with your club contact email if you have problems signing in.

Club members may also sign-up a non-member guest during the registration process if they wish.  If both members of a Family Membership wish to attend they will need to register from each person's personal account as Family Memberships consist of two separate, but bundled, membership accounts.

Payments will only be accepted online with a credit card or Paypal.  If you are unable to make payment via either of these methods, please contact the club Treasurer to make alternate arrangements.

Please note that some of the brewery stops on this trip are located in older buildings that are not ADA accessible.  Ditto for the campsites. In addition, portions of this trip will be spent in various brewing areas at different locations.  As a safety precaution, all participants should wear appropriate shoes that have enclosed toes and good traction to prevent slipping.

If you find the trip is full and would like to be placed on the waiting list, please email our bus trip organizer, Will Minderhout.
